About the Girl

What to say. I'm Alex, and yes, It's short for Alexandra, meaning I am female. I'm 18 now years old and was born on 11th July, making me a Cancer. Like the cancarian stereotype, I am very emotional. One website said cancarians have a strong inferiority complex, this is also true. I have my problems, just like everyone else. And my journal is my place to rant about them. Don't like it, don't read it. It's just somewhere to voice everything that I wouldn't walk about the streets voicing.

I live in a small town near Glasgow, in Scotland. Although, unlike the Scottish stereotype, I don't live on haggis and whiskey and walk around wearing a kilt and a jimmy hat, sprouting phrases like "Och aye the noo" and suchlike.

I don't really belong to any cliques, and I never have. I'm not a ned, grunger, emo, punk, scene kid, goth or any of the others. I am me. Some days I might looks like one of them, but the next day I could be it's exact opposite.

I'm generally a nice person. I don't have any enemies and I don't like to make them. I don't bitch about people, and I don't hate anyone or hold any grudges. This seems to work out okay. I'm not the most popular person in the world, but at least I don't have any known enemies.

I have a few close friends, and a bigger group of friends too. I have friends from all of the social cliques, and it doesn't bother me. Some of my friends don't like eachother however, but they've long learned that I won't take sides between friends.

I've got one of those love lives that is confusing, but hey, doesn't everybody. I'm one of the people that is always the friend, and never the girlfriend. But hey, I'm growing to get used to that. I'd rather have my wonderful friends around me. I also hate the sexuality labels. I am not gay, I'm not straight and I'm not bisexual. I am a girl and yes, I like girls. Sometimes I like boys too. I'm not going to limit myself by going for one particular gender. I look for people and personalities. Not boys or girls.

I guess I'm pretty honest. I'm addicted to surveys, my myspace is full of them. I'll post a link to it. I'm also rather addicted to my livejournal. But I won't link to that, because it's private. If I know you and you discover my journal and try to add it...please don't be offended if I don't add you. I put some pretty personal things in there. Some random things too, but it's all friends only, and the few offline friends that know it are the only people who will ever be able to access it.

I've been web-designing since I was about 11, when I tried out expage and knew nothing of html. Most of my life since then has revolved around computers. I used to be an active member of fandom forums, but I've not used them in about a year. I also read and write a lot of fanfiction. Since I was a kid I've always been an avid reader, and started writing then too.

As well as being a writer I'm also an actress, I'm involved in three youth drama grops locally and I'm also studying drama at college, and I love it. I'm not entirely sure what I want to do next year, or in the future at all, with colleges and such, but I intend to keep acting as much as I can.

Adding to my many talents I'm also very musical. I started playing piano when I was 7, flute when I was 11 and clarinet when I was 14/15. The only thing I miss with school was the band, where I played my flute. Bandcamp weekends were just the most fun ever, and not geeky at all! We also went to Manchester twice for National finals and we went on a European tour in 2003, which was fantastic! I sing too, but I've only gained confidence in this in the past year, since joining my drama groups. I stopped caring whether I'm good or not, because I just love singing so much. You can always spot our drama group, because we walk about the streets singing in harmonies =D
